The young and dynamic leader who brought new life into the British parliament and had a hand in heralding the monarchy into the twenty first century announced this week that he is leaving office.

Though it seems like yesterday, Blair actually became leader of the Labor party a decade ago. In that time he has led his country through the war in Iraq, September 11 and the 7/7 London bombings, and the death of Princess Diana. Though he’s seen his popularity slip in the past few years, Blair will certainly be remembered as a dynamic and fair politician who his countrymen could rely on in times of strife. He made himself seem human, and stood in stark contrast to the stuffy image of the monarchy. He’s got four kids, a vocal wife and seems like a down to earth man. Frankly, I really like the guy.
