I had the pleasure of seeing Lindsey Buckingham in concert last night. He’s playing a solo tour – backed up by three guys—to promote his new solo effort “Under This Skin.”

He played a mix of his own new songs, while also performing classic Mac tunes –only ones he penned himself—and Buckingham staples like Go Insane.

Along with Stevie Nicks and recently retired Christine McVie, Buckingham fronts the legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac. Funny as may sound, Stevie is the girl, and Lindsay is the boy.

While Fleetwood Mac still tours together on occasion, Buckingham –like Nicks—has also enjoyed a healthy solo career over the years.

While his performances with the Mac are usually driven by his emotional and complicated history with Nicks – the two of them play off each other on stage in a way that is amazing—in his solo tour, Buckingham was able to emote and deliver a soulful performance all on his own.

He introduced the show by saying it was a pleasure for him to connect with a smaller audience, and he didn’t disappoint. At one point, Buckingham even lowered his guitar into the front row and let audience members strum as he played the chords.
