Nickelback and other ways to waste $45

Thank you to Boise Weekly contributor Josh Gross for articulating what so many of us were thinking.

As Canadians we’re trained (dare I say brainwashed?) by the Canadian-centric playlists and content percentages radio stations are mandated to fill. Nickelback gets a lot of play for this reason. And while I don’t fault the CRTC or goverment for imposing such sanctions (it’s how I first heard and fell in love with Harmonium and Claude Dubois), I do take offence to creating downright cringe-worthy music.

I should make it clear that I have nothing against these guys personally, especially since Chad Kroeger FINALLY cut his hair. As my grandma would say; they’re just not my cup of tea.

And as Mr Gross aptly pointed out, I can buy a lot of tea bags with that ticket money.
